What drivers do I
need to download?
Note: Do NOT save printer drivers to the desktop. Save to a directory on your hard drive.
Do you want to use USB and simulate a Communication Port
The RS-232 USB Emulation
Driver allows your application to think that it is communicating with a
serial port, but is actually using the USB link to communicate with the
printer.(The RS-232 Emulation USB Driver maps a virtual communication port
thru USB).
Note:
Please refer to the readme.txt files included
in the download for installation information.
Please make sure that, prior to
ordering, you have the interface that you need for your POS system. The
most important is to see if you require RS-232 Emulation Boot firmware.
For best results determine which printer you need. Contact your Point
of Sale software application provider to see if your system requires
Direct USB or RS-232 Emulation.
Are you using TPG OPOS WIN 98/2K/XP?
If you are using an application that is written to interface with
the OPOS "Ole Point of Sale" standard, then the TPG OPOS Driver will allow you
to communicate with the TPG Printers. The TPG OPOS Driver provides the mechanisms to
print on the receipt
station, the slip station, read MICR, and lift check images on the Microsoft
Windows Operating Systems. (The OPOS
Driver can communicate using RS-232 or USB. If you use USB, download the TPG Native USB
Driver and make sure the TPG
Printer is configured for Native USB).
Note:
Please refer to the OPOS User Guide included in the
OPOS Driver download for setup information.
OPOS Driver for Windows 98/2K/XP (using RS-232 or Native USB).
Are you using JPOS Linux/WIN 98/2K/XP?
The JPOS "Java Point of Sale" Driver provides the same solution
as the OPOS Driver, but is written in JAVA so it can be distributed across both
Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
Do you want to print to a Windows Application?
The TPG Mini Drivers allow you to print to TPG printers using the
Microsoft Windows Print System. After
downloading the appropriate mini drivers, you would use the MS Windows "Add
Printer" wizard to install the mini driver(s).
Note:
For the TPG Hybrid (slip & receipt)
printers you will need to download both the slip and the receipt mini
drivers.(The mini drivers can
communicate as RS-232, USB or Ethernet. If you use the USB communication, the
TPG printer must be configured to Printer Class USB).
For A758 use A794 receipt & A758 slip.
For A760 use A795 receipt & A760 slip.
Please refer to the readme.txt files included in the download for installation information.
